Citizens should also be demanding that counties ditch the machines immediately!

The older I get, the more I think I'm living in the Twilight Zone. A child could figure out that mail-in ballots have no chain of custody and therefore are completely, totally insecure; anyone, from your housemate to your postman could fill yours out on your behalf or simply "disappear" it, or you could be forced to fill it out or let someone else do it & then sign the envelope under duress. You don't need a computer science degree to understand that ALL computers are eminently hackable - often without a trace - and that voting machines perform their operations unseen without any parallel system auditing them; in fact most machines are probably already hacked before they're installed. I used to imagine that I lived among adults who were somewhat similar to me, but I'm coming to realize that the average American must have the IQ of a small, trusting child.
